Rare “rainbow cloud” spotted over Dublin, Ireland

The skies above Dublin, Ireland, and northeast England became a spectacular site of iridescent lights the morning of Dec. 21 as rare “rainbow clouds” formed in the sky. The display esd a result of nacreous clouds, thin clouds filled with tiny ice crystals that develop in cold temperatures.
