MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — A Hollywood Casino janitor was arrested in July for allegedly stealing $10,000 in cash from a patron. Joshua Turner now faces a felony charge for stealing.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol states that a gambler reported losing a “strap” of $100 bills totaling $10,000 after getting it from the cashier. Surveillance footage shows the money fell from the victim’s pocket in the elevator vestibule leading to the parking garage.

Turner, who was cleaning the area at the time, allegedly covered the cash with a towel from his cleaning cart and took it after the victim left. He was later found asleep in a casino restaurant booth and admitted to still having the money.

The stolen cash was found in his cleaning cart, still wrapped in the towel. Turner reportedly told authorities he should have turned the money in to lost and found but kept it, considering it “a blessing.”
