ST. CHARLES — A 27-year-old Malaysian woman was shot in the neck at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles early on Saturday. A suspect is under arrest.

The St. Charles Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at 2:30 AM in the parking garage. Upon arrival, officers found the injured woman, who identified her attacker before being taken to the hospital. She has life-threatening injuries and underwent emergency surgery.

Police quickly apprehended the suspect, identified as the victim’s 50-year-old boyfriend from St. Louis. He is currently in custody as the investigation continues.
