ST. LOUIS – One woman is hospitalized Wednesday morning after a shooting at a South St. Louis apartment complex.

Police got a call for a shooting in the 4600 block of South Spring shortly after 7 a.m. That is in the Dutchtown neighborhood, basically between Neosho and Itaska.

When officers got there, they found a woman who had been shot. Police tell us she was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Our crew at the scene could see a window shattered in one of the units. There are several buildings in the apartment complex but only a relatively small section of the complex was taped off by police.

Police told us earlier that they had a vague description of a possible suspect but so far no one is in custody.

This is a developing story. FOX 2 will update as more information becomes available.
