ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo – A woman was left dead after being struck by a car in Bonne Terre on Wednesday.
The collision occurred a little after 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on Missouri Route 47, near Buchanan Street, involving a 2000 Buick Century.
Officials say a woman was initially walking northbound on Route 47 in the northbound lane before the crash happened.
According to investigators, the driver of the 2000 Buick Century was travelling northbound on Route 47. As the driver approached a hilltop north of Buchanan Street, investigators say the front right of the vehicle struck the woman.
Investigators say Laura Reagan, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Buick Century did not suffer an injury and was able to drive away from the scene.
