Woman charged in weekend homicide in Jeff-Vander-Lou

ST. LOUIS – A woman is in custody for Sunday’s fatal shooting in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.

According to Sgt. Charles Wall, a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting took place around 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Thomas Street and North Garrison Avenue.

Officers found the victim, Brittany Richie, lying unconscious on the sidewalk. She’d been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Richie was 26.

Police took Marissa Lewis, 28, into custody at the scene and claimed she was responsible for Richie’s death.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Lewis with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. She’s being held without bond.
