ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis woman was charged over the weekend after allegedly leading authorities on a high-speed pursuit from the state capital all the way to St. Charles County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s probable cause statement, the chase happened on the afternoon of Friday, August 23.
The highway patrol received word just before 4:30 p.m. from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office about a theft from a mall in Jefferson City. The suspect’s vehicle, a black Mercedes-Benz, had led deputies on a chase on eastbound Interstate 70 at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
The Mercedes exited I-70 at David Hoekel Parkway and struck two other vehicles before stopping. The driver and a passenger exited the Mercedes. The driver attempted to steal the second vehicle involved but was quickly apprehended.

The highway patrol located several Dillard’s department store bags in the Mercedes, as well as a large amount of clothing on hangers with retail tags, as well as shoe boxes containing new shoes.
The driver of the Mercedes, identified as Cierra S. Baker, had prior convictions for stealing and theft and was already on probation/parole for burglary at the time of her arrest.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Baker with resisting arrest by fleeing, leaving the scene of an accident, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, and stealing – $750 or more. Baker remains jailed on a $20,000 cash-only bond. She’s due in court for a hearing on September 5.
