When are the St. Louis-area Olympians competing?

PARIS – Nearly a dozen athletes born or raised in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area will compete in this summer’s Olympics.

The 2024 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony is set for Friday and the games run through Aug. 11. This year’s Olympics consist of more than 30 sports with swimming, gymnastics, basketball and track and field among the most popular.

Here’s a quick breakdown of how soon these Olympians will be in action. All competitions are listed in U.S. Central Time unless otherwise stated.


Southwest breaks with 50-year tradition and will assign seats; profit falls at Southwest, American

Napheesa Collier and the U.S. Women’s Basketball team have three qualifier matchups scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29 against Japan; 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1 against Belgium; and 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4 against Germany. Freddie Crittenden could compete several times in the 110m hurdle competition. The first three rounds are scheduled at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4; 3:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6; and 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The final round is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8. Tyler Downs could compete several times in the 3m springboard competition. The first two rounds are scheduled for 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6 and 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The final round is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8. CLICK HERE for schedule updates.

Brandon Miller could compete several times in the 800m competition. The first three rounds are scheduled for 4:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7; 5 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8; and 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. The final round is scheduled for 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10. DeAnna Price could compete in a qualifier and a final round in the hammer throw competition. The qualifier round begins at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4. The final round is scheduled for 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6. CLICK HERE for schedule updates.

Patrick Schulte and the U.S. Men’s Soccer Team have three qualifier matchups. The team lost its opening match to France on Wednesday. The next two matchups are scheduled for noon on Saturday, July 27 against New Zealand and noon on Tuesday, July 30 against Guinea. CLICK HERE for schedule updates.

Aaron Shackell will compete on Saturday, July 27 in the men’s 400m freestyle competition. The heats are scheduled for 4:45 a.m. The final round is scheduled for 1:42 p.m. CLICK HERE for schedule updates.

Jayson Tatum and the U.S. Men’s Basketball team have three qualifier matchups scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 28 against Serbia; 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31 against South Sudan; and 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 against Puerto Rico.
