NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — An 18-year-old Oak Lawn man was killed early Sunday near the Illinois State University campus, the county coroner said.

In a news release, McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder said Randell E. Glass died of multiple gun-shot wounds during an incident that accrued in the 300 block of North Main Street shortly before 3:45 a.m.

A second man, who was also 18, was also struck by gunfire during this incident. He remains in critical condition.

Officers were called to the 300 block of North Main to break up a large party. While there, they heard gunshots and went to the 300 block of North University Street, which is not far away, and found two victims, said Brad Park of the Normal Police Department.

On Sunday, Police Chief Steve Petrilli said the shooting could turn out to be Normal’s third homicide of the year. The chief said he did not believe the victims were ISU students but more information would be coming out later in the day.
