DELLWOOD — A two-year-old child is recovering after being shot in a car in Dellwood. The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Chambers Road and Knollcrest Court. Authorities are still searching for the shooter.
County police responded to a shooting report and found the toddler with a non-life-threatening injury inside an SUV. Two other children in the vehicle were not injured. The SUV was parked on Chambers Road at the time of the shooting. After speaking with the police, the driver of the SUV was allowed to leave the scene in the vehicle.
Details about whether the shots came from another vehicle or another circumstance are still unclear, and police have not released information about potential suspects. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
