ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Two high school students from the Parkway School District recently earned a perfect ACT score of 36, the highest possible score on the ACT college placement exam.
Parkway North student Ray Rao and Parkway West student Sasha Tripathi, both juniors, each earned a perfect score on the ACT last December.
A perfect ACT score of 36 is quite an accomplishment. Less than one percent of students who take the test nationwide attain a perfect score.
The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement exam that measures students’ knowledge and
skills in English, reading, mathematics, and science, including analysis and problem-solving
skills that determine college and career readiness.
Rao hopes to attend Washington University or the University of Chicago to study biochemistry or biomedical engineering. He plans to attend medical school and become a doctor.
Tripathi is considering several universities, including, but not limited to, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Carnegie Mellon University, Harvard University, Cornell University, and the University of Chicago. He wants to major in computer science and minor in chemistry.
ACT scores are accepted at all major four-year colleges and universities across the U.S.
