Two hospitalized after East St. Louis drive-by shooting

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – Two adults are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a drive-by shooting Tuesday afternoon in East St. Louis.

The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Bond Avenue, near an intersection with 10th Street.

Investigators say a 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were both sitting in a stationary vehicle when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire. Both adults were shot and rushed to a hospital. Both victims are residents of East St. Louis.


‘Affordability crisis’ in St. Louis County as home values soar

Investigators say the woman’s infant son was also in the vehicle, though he did not suffer any apparent gunshot wounds. He is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital.

The Illinois State Police and East St. Louis Police Department are handling the investigation.
