ST. LOUIS – It’s always hectic when flights don’t leave at their designated times, especially if they get delayed or even cancelled.
FOX 2 continues to monitor the flights coming in and out of the east coast with the ongoing tropical storm bringing heavy rainfall and severe weather to that part of the country. Specifically, Charlotte, N.C., as the core of Tropical Storm Debby migrates over the international airport, which is a big connecting hub for many American Airlines flights.
15 cancellations and 303 delayed flights arrived in Charlotte today. Flights attempting to leave Charlotte have numbers that are roughly the same: six were canceled and 369 were delayed.
FOX 2 spoke with Stephanie Turner with Brentwood Travel, who tells us what to do and how to plan when you’re stuck on the east coast trying to get home.
“If you have to make a connection anywhere, please allow yourself extra time. And often times, 60–90 minutes is not plenty of time in today’s world…secondly, if you do have a problem or your flight has been cancelled or delayed, get in that line and see what you can do,” she said. “If you use a travel agent, you can call your travel agent. Our air department is always there, we’re available 24 hours a day, there’s a lot of companies that do that kind of service.”
