ST. LOUIS — The trial starts today for Thomas Kinworthy, who is charged with the fatal shooting of St. Louis Police Officer Tamarris Bohannon. Kinworthy faces at least ten charges, including first-degree murder and first-degree burglary.

The incident occurred in August 2020 when Officer Bohannon and his partner were responding to a reported home invasion on Hartford Street. Authorities report that Kinworthy fired at Bohannon from a second-story window, leading to a 12-hour standoff with police before his arrest by a SWAT team.

Jury selection is set for today and will continue on Monday. The trial is anticipated to conclude by May 3rd.
