Three Belleville men arrested in officer-involved shooting

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – Three Belleville men have been arrested after an armed car hijacking in St. Louis last month, according to the Illinois State Police.

On Jan. 27, police were notified around 8 p.m. of an armed hijacking near Locust Street and Sixth Street in downtown St. Louis. An Illinois State Police trooper spotted the vehicle around 9:35 p.m. and attempted a traffic stop, but the car fled the scene.

Shots were fired from the stolen Nissan at the police car, striking several times. The trooper was not injured.

The car eventually crashed, and the three suspects fled again but on foot. None of them were apprehended.

After an extensive investigation, the suspects were identified and taken into custody.

The Illinois State Police Public Safety Enforcement Group arrested Davon E. McLorn, 29, with charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm at a peace officer.

ISP PSEG also arrested Kasey T. Richardson, 27, on charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and aggravated fleeing.

The St. Louis City Circuit Attorney’s Office issued charges against Abduelah C. Jones, 27, for robbery in the first degree and armed criminal action.

Jones and Richardson are being held at the St. Clair County Jail, and McLorn is in custody at the East St. Louis Jail.
