Teen hurt in alleged drive-by shooting Monday in south St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – One teenager was hospitalized after an alleged drive-by shooting Monday afternoon in south St. Louis.

The shooting happened around 4 p.m. Monday in the 3100 block of Chippewa Street in St. Louis’ Dutchtown neighborhood.

Investigators say, based on the victim’s account, he was standing outside with siblings when someone in a burgundy SUV stopped right in front of their home and fired shots. The victim was struck in the leg, then the driver took off from the scene.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was privately sent to a hospital and is considered to be in stable condition.
