ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A teen faces felony charges and will be tried as an adult in connection with a Pagedale murder near a MetroLink gas station last year.

Prosecutors have charged Chelsea Wiley, 15, with one count of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree robbery.

Wiley and several others are accused in the shooting death of 19-year-old Jaylin Johnson on July 6, 2023.

Investigators say Johnson and several others got off of a MetroLink train at the Rock Road Station in Pagedale. Investigators say that Johnson was shot and killed near the MetroLink station. Johnson’s belongings, including a cellphone and gun, were stolen and his pockets were turned inside out.

Video footage leading up to the death apparently shows Wiley and another woman talking to Johnson on a MetroLink train while the others in a group were making a plan and pointing at Johnson. They were all initially riding westbound.

Wiley and others in the group allegedly reboarded a MetroLink together after the shooting. According to court documents, Wiley originally had a red hoodie on hand while on the train with the victim. After the group reboarded the train, the suspected shooter put on the red hoodie in an attempt to conceal his identity.

After the shooting, Johnson and others in the group stayed on a MetroLink train and took it to the City of St. Louis.

If convicted, Wiley could face up to life in prison.

Prosecutors previously charged Kenneth Hall, 29; Darnesha Thomas-Perry, 18; Steven Marion, 32; and Demetrius Smother, 20, in connection with the investigation. Like Wiley, they all face at least one count each of first-degree robbery and second-degree murder.

“I applaud the Major Case Squad detectives for their methodical work in bringing in these defendants one by one with the evidence needed to charge them,” said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell.
