ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis teachers union looks at the impact of tax abatements on school funding.
The ‘American Federation of Teachers’ will release details of a new study at 5:00 p.m. at Harris-Stowe State University. They analyzed all 25 school districts in St. Louis City and County.
They say tax breaks for developments have cost students more than a quarter of a billion dollars in the past six years. They claim that it disproportionately impacts poor and black students.
