ST. LOUIS — Above normal temperatures continue through Thursday, with increasing chances for rain and a few storms tonight. Temperatures should top out in the 70s under mainly sunny skies today.
Clouds start to build back in ahead of our next wave of energy that will move in from out west later this evening. With it, a band of showers and a few thunderstorms embedded. The best chance for rain will be in areas along and north of I-70 from 8 p.m. through 1 a.m. This system looks to largely fall apart the further it advances east. This will be one of the several rounds of rain and storms we see through the end of the workweek.
Our second chance for storms arrives Wednesday night as another impulse energy shoots in from the plains. This wave of showers and storms continues into Thursday and Thursday night, keeping the best probability for precipitation confined as another cold front drags itself through the region into Friday morning.
Cooler, drier air behind the front will cut off the rain and storm potential for the weekend. Temperatures start to fall back from the 60s on Saturday, into the 50s on Sunday, and eventually into the 40s by early next week.
