ST. LOUIS – A woman filed a lawsuit against the City of St. Louis and a snowplow driver last week, claiming the driver ran a red light that caused her to crash and suffer injuries.

St. Louis resident Mya Holliday filed the lawsuit on Feb. 1, 2024, more than a year after the reported crash.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2022 when Holliday attempted to turn from St. Louis Avenue onto Union Boulevard. The lawsuit accuses a snowplow driver, identified as Latisha O’Neal, of negligence in the crash.

The lawsuit contends that Holliday had a green light to make a turn while O’Neal “ran a red light.” It also claims that O’Neal drove at an excessive speed, did not keep a careful lookout and did not yield to the right of way.

Legal proceedings were further brought to attention in a Riverfront Times article on Wednesday, which shared video of the crash on behalf of an attorney.

The lawsuit states that Holliday has dealt with “pain and suffering, mental and emotional anguish, loss of enjoyment of life and lost wages” since the collision. She is also expecting more future medical expenses in relation to the crash.

Holliday is seeking at least $25,000 from the lawsuit.

FOX 2 has reached out to Holliday’s attorney and the St. Louis Mayor’s Office for comment, but we have yet to hear back. We will update this story if we get a response.
