ST. LOUIS – The Dome at America’s Center saw new upgrades that can’t be missed.

New LED lighting and a new $1 million turf system that is lighter and rolls up quicker were unveiled Wednesday.

“The typical artificial turf lasts eight to ten years, so we were due for it,” Brent Buchanan, Explore St. Louis VP of operations, said. “With the success of the Battlehawks, it really made it worthwhile to make the addition and redo the turf.”

The ability for the turf to roll underneath the ground for storage gives the arena the advantage of going from one event to another quickly. But it will be most known by Battlehawks players and fans.

“It will make a difference when they enter the field. It will create a gameday atmosphere for us like no other,” Battlehawks VP of Team Business Brendon Williams said.

The endzone will be painted each time, whether for the return of college football with the Missouri Tigers, or six games with the UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks.

“The astroturf field is the same that University of Missouri did a few years ago. It’s a great lower impact less injuries…and overall, a better experience for both the fans and the players,” Buchanan added.

Season ticket holders have until Friday to lock in ticket prices at last season’s rate.
