St. Louis County Council debates health insurance contract

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – St. Louis County is struggling to lock down a health insurance contract for its employees.

According to the Post Dispatch, the County Council is debating whether to approve United Healthcare’s bid.


Bridge collapse leaves residents isolated, emergency access hindered

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield is pushing to extend their contract at the current cost. They claim United’s proposal will cost taxpayers four to six million dollars more.

Anthem’s contract expires at the end of September. A hearing to discuss the health insurance contract is on August 13. Open enrollment begins two days later.
