ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis contractor faces felony charges after he failed to complete home renovations as promised and took tens of thousands upfront in payments.
The Missouri Attorney General’s Office has charged Andrew Hall, 42, with two counts of deceptive business practice in connection with the unfinished projects.
Charges allege that Hall’s business did not finish projects for multiple customers in the City of St. Louis who paid upfront for renovations between July 2021 and September 2022.
The Attorney General accuses Hall of performing no work or negligible work for the customers, while also refusing to offer refunds.
“As Attorney General, I will always hold accountable those who target innocent Missourians,” said Missouri Attorney General Bailey via a news release. “My Consumer Protection Unit will continue to work around the clock to obtain justice for any consumer who has been ripped off.”
Court documents allege that two customers paid nearly $40,000 combined upfront and suffered a loss of nearly $35,000 combined for projects unfinished.
A warrant was issued for Hall’s arrest on Tuesday, according to Missouri court records.
