ST. CLAIR, Mo. – A St. Clair, Missouri, man remains jailed on a $250,000 cash-only bond after being charged with 21 counts of child porn possession.

According to Chief Michael L. Wirt, St. Clair Police Department, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office contacted his department about a child porn investigation focusing on a home on Crescent Lake Road.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for a cell phone belonging to Thomas A. McCoy. Authorities seized McCoy’s phone and turned the device over to the Franklin County Cyber Crimes Unit for forensic analysis.

Chief Wirt said those investigators found child porn on the phone and notified St. Clair police, who, along with Franklin County deputies, located and arrested McCoy.

The Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged McCoy with one count of possession of child pornography – first offense and 20 additional counts of possession of child pornography – second or subsequent offense. McCoy is due in court for a bond hearing on September.
