ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A man and woman from St. Charles were arrested Wednesday for a shooting at a gas station during a drug deal gone wrong.

According to the St. Charles County Police Department’s probable cause statements, the shooting took place between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning at a gas station. A more specific time and location were not provided.

The victim reported to police that a man had shot him in a gas station parking lot. A woman had been with the shooter.

The victim said he picked the woman up at a nearby location and drove her to the gas station, where he’d agreed to sell her marijuana. The woman allegedly took the marijuana, as well as other personal items, and ran from the victim’s car.

Police said the victim ran after her but was shot multiple times. The victim tried to run back to his car but collapsed. The shooter and the woman allegedly ran back to the shooter’s home.

Investigators reviewed security video from the gas station and spoke with employees. The employees identified both the shooter and the woman as regular customers and said the woman previously applied for a job at the gas station months earlier.

With this information, police identified the suspects as Mary Jane Nolan and Tyrone Chase Jr. Officers arrested both at Chase’s residence.

During questioning, police said Nolan confirmed they’d planned to steal the victim’s marijuana because she’d previously bought marijuana from him in the past.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Chase with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, and accessory to first-degree robbery. Nolan was charged with accessory to first-degree assault, accessory to first-degree robbery, and accessory to armed criminal action. Both were jailed on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
