ST. LOUIS – Wildfire smoke is still drifting across the nation thanks to the upper atmospheric winds (jet stream) and will continue to bring hazy skies to St. Louis.

There is also expected to be a buildup of ozone at the surface in Metro STL on Wednesday, leading to an Orange Air Quality Alert. Those with heart and lung conditions are encouraged to avoid doing too much outdoors.

Areas of fog this Wednesday morning, but otherwise clear skies to start.

Once again, we will see building clouds throughout the day, with widely scattered showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. Most will stay dry, but some could get a pretty heavy downpour.

Hotter Wednesday, highs in the low 90s. We’ll clear out again overnight. Wake up temps in the 70s.

As a cold front slides through Thursday, we’ll see more scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 80s.

Behind the front, we’ll see a small drop in temperatures for Friday and Saturday before we push back into the 90s early next week.
