ST. LOUIS – Constructing a Mardi Gras party takes a team and a dream.
Social Bar and Grill in Soulard will host Effen Tent STL on Saturday, the biggest Mardi Gras celebration the owners have ever dreamed of.
“We like to kick it up. Kick it up. Kick it up. People want to come and party. They want a great time. A good show. This year, we’ve definitely kicked it up with bigger stages, bigger talent, bigger light show. Bigger everything,” Aprille Trupiano, co-owner of Social Bar and Grill, said.
Trupiano said having the biggest Mardi Gras footprint in Soulard has allowed Social Bar and Grill to expand its Effen Tent STL all-inclusive experience.
“It’s premium bar..all inclusive, all day long,” she said. “And I don’t know if you saw, but we have the bathrooms. Everyone laughs at me for talking about the bathrooms, but the bathrooms are a big deal.”
Those who have attended Mardi Gras in Soulard can attest to how important those bathrooms are, and Trupiano said they have more than 85 on-site.
13 years of Mardi Gras parties and seven of those hosting the Effen Tent STL has helped them home in on what attendees want.
“People want a VIP experience. Even our general admission is a VIP experience. It’s a great vibe,” Jamie Trupiano, co-owner of Social Bar and Grill, said.
A ticket to Effen Tent STL provides in-and-out access all day, but Jamie says people won’t want to leave when they hear the musical groups performing this year inside the tent.
“We do have St. Louis’ own Fillmore. I’m a fan so I’m excited. And we have two international stars this year. We have James HYPE and we have Meduza,” she said.
If all that wasn’t enough, the Trupiano’s say there’s a charitable element to this year’s event.
“We’re also benefiting St. Jude this year. First time we’ve done that. We’re so excited about it,” Trupiano said. “We have a long history with St. Jude. All of my family has a heart for St. Jude’s, the kids and the research hospital.”
