SLMPD needs help identifying victims in viral fireworks video

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) is calling for the public’s help in identifying victims of a viral video, which showed a man throwing fireworks at people over the 4th of July weekend.

SLMPD believes the incident happened near The Wheelhouse and on Washington Avenue in St. Louis. Detectives say the man reportedly set off fireworks in front of a large crowd.

At one point in the video, the man also threw fireworks into a car while it was at an intersection, according to SLMPD.

SLMPD urges anyone who sustained an injury because of the alleged suspect to contact the Bomb and Arson detectives. Detectives can be reached at 314-444-5380.

FOX 2 has yet to learn the identity of the alleged suspect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
