BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS, Mo. — Gunshots rang out Sunday in the hallway of
Grace New Covenant Church. Parishioners were in the middle of service when they heard gunshots. The location is near Chambers Road and Crete Drive.

It is not clear what led up to the shooting. The shooter got away. He is not in police custody right now. No injuries have been reported.

Senior Pastor Earnest Howard tells FOX 2 that he knows the active shooter procedure, so they followed those precautions. His first thought was to get everyone to safety, above anything else. He said the attempted assassination of former President Trump was on his mind.

This is a developing story. More details will be posted as they come into the FOX 2 newsroom.
