ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis Science Center is in the running for the titles of America’s “Best Science Museum” and “Best Free Museum” as part of national polls conducted by USA TODAY.

People can vote for the Science Center to gain national spotlight through the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

A panel nominated 20 spots around the United States for top honors as a “science” and/or a “free” museum. The Saint Louis Science Center and the California Science Center are the only two venues active in both polls.

As of Tuesday, the Saint Louis Science Center is in sixth place in the science museum voting and second place in the free museum voting.

“At Saint Louis Science Center, visitors can choose their own adventure,” said USA Today. Poll organizers also tout the science center for hundreds of interactive experiences, full-scale replicas and OMINAX theater, among other features.

Voting closes at 11 a.m. CT on February 12. USA TODAY will announce the winners of the competition later in 2023.

Last year, the Saint Louis Science Center finished in the Top 5 of both categories, second for the best free museum and fifth for the best science museum.
