ST. LOUIS – St. Louis official saw record rainfall Sunday, 1.98”, besting 1.77” in 1993. On Monday, we’ll see additional rain and thunderstorms that could bring another inch of rain to spots across the region.
One wave of storms is expected through Monday morning, including the busy morning commute to work and school. After a brief lunchtime lull, additional storms are expected in the afternoon. Then we could see more storms develop later in the night into the early hours of Tuesday.
There is a slight chance of severe storms, with the afternoon and late-night rounds of rain and damaging winds being the bigger concern. Temperatures won’t move a lot Monday. We’ll start in the 60s and see highs in the 70s.
As the storm system departs to the east on Tuesday, a few lingering showers or storms will be possible, especially through midday. Highs will be in the mid-70s.
Tuesday night through Thursday look quieter with highs in the 70s. I also have my eye on some tropical action near Nicaragua at the moment. There is some data that suggests that a storm could eventually impact St. Louis with rain into the weekend. Stay tuned.
