FLORISSANT, Mo. — A man is facing several charges, including assault on an officer, after federal marshals raided his home. Investigators found drugs, guns, and a stolen Jeep at the home during the raid.
On Wednesday, Melvin Nelson, 40, was arrested at his home in the 2200 block of Gadbury. United States Marshals who were serving a warrant and Florissant Investigators made the arrest. Nelson faces multiple charges, including assault on a law enforcement officer, tampering with a motor vehicle, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
During the investigation following Nelson’s arrest, officers found large quantity of narcotics, along with equipment used for manufacturing drugs. Several firearms were also found on the property. In the garage, investigators located a stolen 2012 Jeep Cherokee.
Nelson is currently being held at the St. Louis County jail. His bond has been set at $250,000.
