ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man accused of fatally shooting his neighbor last week will not face criminal charges.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office ruled the man acted in self-defense in killing Jeffrey Holmes.

The shooting took place just after 2 p.m. Friday in the 3100 block of Olive Street.

Police arrived to find Holmes suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Holmes was taken to a hospital, where he died. He was 42.
