ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – St. Louis County Executive Sam Page says he plans to push for a property tax increase in order to pay for a new county headquarters and office space.

According to FOX 2’s partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the county is considering plans to fix or replace the 52-year-old Lawrence K. Roos building in downtown Clayton by 2028. If they don’t, it could face eviction and thousands of dollars in fines.

It would cost at least $276 million over 20 years for an overhaul, or up to $612 million for a brand new facility. Page says the issue could hit the ballot in November.
