SULLIVAN, Mo. — A deputy and a police officer shot and killed a man who allegedly approached them with a knife on Interstate 44 in Sullivan. The incident happened just before 7:40 p.m. last night.

According to a joint statement from the Franklin County Sheriff and the Sullivan Police Chief, police dispatch requested help with a man walking east in the westbound lanes who appeared angry. When officers arrived, they stopped traffic to prevent the man from being hit by a car.
