ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A bold and unsettling burglary has rocked a St. Charles County neighborhood, leaving one homeowner heartbroken and police on the hunt for answers.

A late-model black Chevrolet S-10 or GMC Sonoma pulled into the driveway of a home along Highway 79 in the evening of Aug. 20.

One male suspect exited the vehicle and brazenly entered the residence. Accompanied by a female, the suspect quickly left with a jewelry box containing an estimated $15,000 worth of valuables. But it’s not just the monetary value that has the homeowner devastated.

The homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous, shared with us her relief at not being home during the burglary but expressed deep sorrow over the loss of her wedding ring—a sentimental piece that was in the stolen box.

She revealed that St. Charles County Police have identified a potential suspect, thanks to surveillance footage matching the suspect’s description.

In a nearby pawn shop, an employee, who spoke with us off camera, explained their process of submitting all pawned items to a police database and holding them for 15 days before they’re sold. The owner of the stolen jewelry even visited the shop in search of her stolen items, hoping the thieves might have tried to pawn them.

As the search for the suspects continues, anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle is urged to contact Saint Charles County Police (636) 949-3000 ext. 2569 or email mcantillon@sccmo.org.
