Police investigate death of 2-year-old, charge man for drug crimes

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. – A man has been charged after a toddler was found dead inside a Montgomery City apartment Wednesday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Montgomery City Police Department requested the assistance of the state’s drug and crime control division around 5:30 p.m. to investigate the death of a child.

Upon arrival, authorities found a deceased 2-year-old. Police also found drugs and other paraphernalia inside the residence.

35-year-old Bryan Danter was arrested. He is charged with one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, one count of second-degree drug trafficking, and one count for possession of a controlled substance.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the child’s cause of death.

Danter is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail. No further details have been released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
