ST. LOUIS – An arrest warrant has been issued for a St. Louis man accused of forcing his way into a woman’s home and attacking her in an act of retribution.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the crimes took place on Sept. 10 in the 2800 block of Gamble Street, located in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.
Police said Brian D. King, 21, and two female accomplices forced their way into the victim’s home when she answered a knock at her door. The accomplices assaulted the victim while King pointed a gun in her direction.
King told the woman he’d been paid to be at her home, police said. He also mentioned a dispute between the two involving the Cash App service.
King and his cohorts stole pieces of art from the victim’s wall and left the residence.
Investigators were able to identify one of the female accomplices as a juvenile and neighbor of the victim.
It’s believed the victim was targeted because she was cooperating in a separate investigation against someone King knew.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged King with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, and armed criminal action. Once in custody, King will be held without bond.
