INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Several officers from departments around the Kansas City area provided a police escort, and the body of the fallen officer was taken from the hospital to the medical examiner’s office.
On Wednesday night, dozens of people gathered outside the Independence Police Department to pay their respects at a prayer vigil.
