ST. LOUIS – A man is behind bars after a attempted business robbery Friday morning in Downtown St. Louis.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has charged Tyron Griffin, 42, with one count of first-degree robbery amid the investigation.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says Griffin is accused in an attempted robbery at a business in the 700 block of Olive Street.
Investigators say, around 9:30 a.m. Friday, Griffin went into an undisclosed business and gave the front desk a note that announced his intent of a robbery. He also demanded money.
A short time later, one employee was able to call police about the situation. Officers arrested Griffin near the scene of the incident shortly after that.
A police crime summary report did not disclose whether Griffin may have been armed or took off with any items from the business successfully. No injuries were reported in the robbery.
Griffin was booked into the St. Louis Justice Center shortly after his arrest.
