ST. LOUIS – Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects in a fatal shooting at a south St. Louis gas station last year.

According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Evita Caldwell, the shooting happened just before 7:10 p.m. on November 12 in the parking lot outside the MotoMart, located at the corner of Chippewa Street and Jefferson Avenue.

Police found the victim, Christopher Barnhill, on the ground next to the driver door of an Acura TSX. He’d been shot in abdomen and was barely breathing. EMS rushed Barnhill to the hospital, where he later died. Barnhill was 43.

Over the past four months, investigators have procured security video from the scene of the shooting and the surrounding neighborhood, which shows one man in all black attire and white tennis shoes approach Barnhill’s car, and a second man casually walking away from the vehicle after the shooting.

Anyone with information on the person’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact the city’s Homicide Division directly at 314-444-5371. If you wish to remain anonymous or are interested in a cash reward, call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.
