Person seriously injured in overnight Dutchtown fire

ST. LOUIS – One person suffered serious injuries during a fire overnight in St. Louis’ Dutchtown neighborhood.

The fire occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Dunnnica Avenue, according to the St. Louis Fire Department.

When fire crews arrived to the scene, there was heavy smoke present from a “two-story brick, multi-unit dwelling.” One occupant escaped the fire, then was treated and “transported in serious condition,” according to the St. Louis Fire Department.

Fire crews, building inspectors and utility crews all responded to the scene.

It’s unclear what led up to the fire at this time. FOX 2 will update as more information becomes available.
