Pedestrian struck, killed in Soulard hit-and-run crash

ST. LOUIS – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend in St. Louis’ Soulard neighborhood.

Police say a female victim of an undisclosed age died in the crash. An unknown driver struck the victim and rushed away from the scene.

The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Gravois Avenue and Russell Boulevard.

The driver was heading eastbound and continued onto Gravois after the crash, according to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department crime summary report. The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment, though she died from her injuries.

An accident reconstruction team with SLMPD responded to the scene. Police have not disclosed any potential details on a potential suspect or vehicle linked to the crash.
