JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Governor Mike Parson is dispatching 200 National Guardsmen and 22 troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol to the U.S.-Mexican border.

The governor said the guardsmen and state patrol will be on the ground in March.

At present, the state already has about 250 guardsmen deployed in Texas.

Last month, Parson met with at least a dozen other governors to discuss how to best deploy resources to the southern border.
