ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant on Monday for one of two men charged with stealing a coworker’s tax return at gunpoint.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the robbery took place on April 5, 2022, in the 6400 block of Prescott Avenue, in the city’s North Riverfront neighborhood.

Police said Javon Harrison, 32, and Cedric L. Thompson (age not provided) noticed their coworker had received his tax return—approximately $3,000 in cash—and had it out at work. Harrison and Thompson later asked the victim if he wanted to come to lunch with them.

Once in the car, Harrison and Thompson began demanding the victim hand over his tax return and cellphone, police said. There was a third person in the front seat who was armed with a rifle.

The victim told police he feared for his life and turned over his phone and money.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged both Harrison and Thompson with first-degree robbery. Thompson is due to appear in court on August 29.

However, Harrison is not in custody, and the judge issued an at large warrant for his arrest with no bond allowed.
