One man dead, another injured in Jeff-Vander-Lou shooting

ST. LOUIS – A man is dead and another person is injured after a shooting in north St. Louis Sunday afternoon.

The shooting took place around 5:45 p.m. on the 3800 block of Garfield Avenue in north St. Louis’ Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found a 48-year-old man unconscious on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say they also found a second victim, a 52-year-old man, on the street suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not released information on any suspects in the shooting or the identity of the 48-year-old victim.
