MADISON COUNTY, Ill. – One person is left dead and another person injured after a fatal three-vehicle accident in Troy.
The accident occurred a little before 4:14 a.m. Wednesday morning on Interstate 55 at the northbound I-55 and eastbound I-70 split.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another person was transported with injuries to a nearby hospital.
Northbound I-55 was closed for an extended period at I-70. All northbound traffic was being diverted to I-70 eastbound.
