Officer injured while rescuing hostage in Moscow Mills incident

Moscow Mills, Mo. – A police officer was brutally beaten while rescuing an 11-year-old girl who had been taken hostage.

It happened on Thursday night when officer Sarah Miller responded to a call about a man who was acting erratically.

According to arresting documents, when the officer arrived, she encountered Jeffrey Michael Price inside a home, holding the young girl by the neck, using her as a human shield.

Officer Miller intervened, freeing the 11-year-old.

Price then allegedly attacked Officer Miller, beating her in the head multiple times. Despite her injuries, she fought back until backup arrived.

Lincoln County deputies eventually handcuffed Price after using a taser. Officer Miller is expected to recover despite her injuries.

A Lincoln County deputy was also hurt. Price is being held in jail on a one-million-dollar bond. He faces a long list of charges including kidnapping, assault, burglary, and resisting arrest.
