ST. LOUIS – The National Weather Service has confirmed at least two tornadoes from Thursday’s St. Louis-area storms.

More tornado designations are likely Friday after three rounds of tornado-warned storms, including one during rush hour commutes Thursday afternoon.

NWS crews are working to survey potential storm damage on the Missouri and Illinois sides of Greater St. Louis. The NWS says there are several reports of potential tornadoes, though teams are working to evaluate the extent and severity of damages.

As of late Friday morning, NWS has confirmed these two tornadoes…

EF0 Tornado

Location: St. Louis County, Missouri (near Charlack)

A twister formed around 7:46 a.m. near Lackland Road and lasted less than two minutes. NWS reports that the tornado delivered gusts up to 75 miles per hour with a small path and a width around 50 yards.

“Damage was confined to trees, fencing, roofs, and siding,” said NWS via X.

Tornado (Unrated)

A twister formed around 4:35 p.m. and moved northeast. On the NWS X page, this was the only apparent tornado from Thursday’s St. Louis-area storms “confirmed” in real time. NWS has not yet disclosed additional details about this tornado.
