NEW HAVEN, Mo. – The New Haven Police Department has been dissolved. According to FOX 2’s partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, it comes after Police Chief John Hallquist resigned last Friday, just weeks after taking office.

In a letter to New Haven officials, he says, “The circumstances surrounding the department and the information I have discovered have brought me to this decision.” Hallquist also wrote that some of the information he discovered required alerting the “proper authorities.”
